The client
Branch delivered end-to-end online registration and check-in, with registration routed by attendee status, a public link for general admission and an emailed invitation for VIPs, and QR code tickets delivered by email. Three apps from the F1 Fan Zone engagement were redeployed on the same stand.
Aspire is an Abu Dhabi initiative leading innovation-driven public technology experiences across the region, and the body behind the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League.
The challenge
The Drone Championship needed a complete digital system for its final: public and VIP registration on separate paths, on-site check-in tight enough to control access to the hall, and attendance figures the organisers could read while the doors were open rather than the week after.
What we built
Registration system
A responsive site with a custom registration flow and automated emails that deliver the ticket, so a registrant leaves with their QR code rather than a promise of one.
Event microsite
The agenda and the speaker line-up for the A2RL Summit alongside the race, kept on the same domain as registration so an attendee never changes context.
Check-in system
A tablet web app for event staff: scan the QR ticket, confirm registration status, adjust the adult and child count on the door, and check the party in. Wired directly to the registration database.
Statistics webpage
A page for the organisers carrying live registration and check-in figures: registrants, total attendees including additional guests, confirmed attendance and checked-in count.
